Dual F25 Well, here’s my deal I am trying desperately to build a theater in the basement of my home. I now have everything other than the screen. Unfortunately, I have had no time for building, so the project is falling behind. A single F25 absolutely blows the SVS away! The difference is incredible. The SVS plays deep and relatively clean compared to older subs I had.
How do I bridge two different amps together?
Both the theory and practical points on how to connect 2 speakers are discussed. Connecting 2 speakers in parallel or series to your amplifier is useful when: If you need to turn each speaker on or off individually or have separate volume controls, you may need a speaker selector switch. Many people get confused when we talk about a stereo amplifier.
A stereo amp simply has two amplifiers built into the one box. We are not talking about connecting two speakers to a stereo amp, as that simply involves connecting one spe aker to each amplifier left and right.
Aug 28, · If you are planning multiple amps, and huge power running back there + watts, I’d suggest better wiring. 0/1 gauge to the block and 4 to the amp or even 0/1 to the subwoofer amp. The speaker amp you can go 8 or 4 no : Resolved.
In reality, a lot of these variables are mutually exclusive: If you want maximum power output, be prepared to pay more for the drivers and sacrifice some frequency response. Keep these things in mind as you read over the next sections. A Note on Speaker Selection Don’t skimp too much on the speakers: However you can have all of the above qualities without spending a fortune.
A word to the wise: However, like most older things in the music industry, they have a “magic” premium attached to them, and hence you must pay more to get them. Try and stay away from speakers with cloth accordion or treated paper surrounds for any designs other than open backed. The surround on these speakers can be a large source of air leaks in sealed enclosures, which results in lowered efficiency.
Remember, each 3-dB increase in efficiency results in twice the apparent sound level at a given power input. Most speakers for instrument use are very high in the high 90’s, and some are over for the wattage they accept. Open Back or infinite baffle Open back guitar cabinets are extremely easy to design, and typically require the least amount of construction material to manufacture. They have a very bright and full tone, and make great recording and live cabinets due to the fact that they have wonderful “room filling” properties.
One does not need to worry much about internal volumes, calculations, and other design criterion.
How to Bridge a 4 Channel Amp
Oct 5 – 4: Two amps connected to same speakers First, I must say that I do NOT know enough about the specific voltage levels of the various inputs available to say whether this scheme is safe. However, I do know enough about what goes on concerning inputs to point out the potential areas that could cause a problem. I see two potential problems with employing this type of connection scheme.
First, there is noise.
Don’t connect two amps to one doesn’t work that way. You ‘can’ connect two amps up to a dual voice coil sub but it’s a bad bad bad idea.
Preparations In this case, the power was controlled by a amp breaker on the main breaker panel. I turned off the breaker. Then I removed the cover from the sub-panel that was getting a new circuit breaker. This situation is a little different from most houses. This house has a amp main breaker panel, which feeds 3 subsidiary breaker panels. This is a good technique for house wiring, although it does cost a little more.
This method allowed me to shut off the power at the main panel, so the amp sub-panel had no live wires anywhere. But there was still power to some parts of the house.

How do you hook up a 3 farad capacitor to two amps? You also must know how use capacitors on the sub to make it respond only to bass! And while they do make com…mercially available accessories that do what Y-T-Y says, by the time you buy one that works for your situation, install it, etc. MORE How do you hook up an amp? Make sure that the power wire and aux cable are on opposite sides of the vehicle for less distortion and interference.
You can hook up 20 subs to a mono amp; BUT you have to co nfigure the speakers by impedance/ohms. if you hook two 2 ohm speakers to a 4 ohm steady amp in parallel you will soon buy a new amp. if you hook 10 speakers in series you will not even get it warm. Each speaker will also divide the available wattage and will not have a lot of power.

2 amps to 1 sub?
Before I get started, for reference: In terms of trunk space, both use roughly the same amount and for me this is main issue with any system. With 2 sealed you get more coil for more thermal power handling, but if you need to send more power you could potentially need electrical upgrades etc. I like the low end boost of ported boxes. So in the real world I can see this going either way for the output battle.
Jul 21, · Best Answer: your underpowering a little yes, however no damage will be done to the sub because of this, i know you can hook up 2 amps to 1 sub but it’s not that easy, pluss you’ll have to tune the amps exactly, your best bet get an amp that’s got Status: Resolved.
Laguna Blue Pearl As armand1 said, it’s easier to ‘tap’ the speaker wires behind the factory radio. To do that without cutting or splicing the factory radio harness, get two after-market harnesses: Wire the these two straight through so your radio sees all the wires like before , and tap off between these two harnesses to send 2 or 4 of the speaker outputs to your LOC or amp s. You’ll need to make sure both harnesses have all 14 wires.
Most of the ones out there lack one of the illumination wires. Without that your stock radio won’t light up.
Trying to decide: 2 8″ subs vs 1 10″ sub
Connecting 2 Amps to 1 Sub? I have a friend who use to work in the Best Buy install bay, and he told me it was a bad idea If i connected it all right and set the amps the same, and not too high, wouldn’t it work just like a W amp? Anyone ever done this?
Aug 29, · How to set up a subwoofer. your AV receiver’s internal crossover control to route the mid and high frequencies to the speakers and the bass to the sub). Turn the volume control halfway up.
Here is what I recommend. This measure assumes a reasonable ambient air temperature typically c , that the heat sinks are black anodized, have free air circulation not using a fan and given plenty of breathing room-usually 8 inches on all sides and don’t sit directly on the floor , and that the fins of the heat sink are oriented vertically. Be aware, though, that different vendors will have different assumptions when measuring and quoting the thermal dissipation of their heat sinks – sometimes you cannot reliably trust the figures.
To get an idea of what you need, follow these steps: Divide 25c max thermal rise that you want by the quiescent power consumption of your amp per channel for building monoblocks or for 2 channels together if building a stereo chassis, keep in mind this is the wattage dissipation, NOT output wattage – they are very different specifications.
This de-rating takes into account all of the inefficiencies of mounting your output transistors to the heat sink and the less than favorable conditions that you are likely to create in building your amp even if you follow the advice above trust me, no matter what you do, it won’t be ideal. Take this number and round it down to the nearest th decimal place.
This is the size of a heat sink that you really need. Then think of a way to get more So here are a few examples: The a40 amp see link at the top of the page is specified to dissipate w total for two channels its a stereo chassis. Dividing 25c by w yields 0. This yields a more realistic figure of 0. Then round it down resulting in a larger heat sink specification.

While unintentional, the clearest statement of your question is that you don’t know what you are doing. You want your over-current protection device to be the weakest link in your system, so it pops before anything is damaged. You’re talking about hooking a 50A line up to a A breaker, making the wiring the weakest link.
How do you hook up a 1 farad capacitor to your amp? Answer 1 You first have to determine which side of the cap is positive andwhich side is negative. You run a wire from the negative side tothe chassis and for the positive side you run a cable from thebattery to the terminal and from the terminal to the amp. Be careful not to mix up positive and negative on the capbecause it could explode and cause damage.
Answer 2 Because the capacitor is used to filter changes in supply voltageto the amp, the capacitor should be as close to the amp aspossible, and connected with heavy wiring. The capacitor also actsas a huge reservoir to supply lots of current as the amp signalhits high levels. By providing plenty of current when it is needed, distortion in the sound is minimized. The key is lots of capacitance, as close to the amp as possible, and thick cables capable of carrying lots of current.
Answer 3 Be very careful with that thing.

My Jeeps How do I hook up speakers with 2 preout head unit? I’m looking at a Kenwood EZ head unit because I think it’s style blends in with the Jeep the best but it only has 2 preouts. I assume you pick one or the other. I will be adding an amp or two? Is it possible to get decent sound with four speakers plus a sub from a head unit that only has two pre outs. I’m sure it’s better to get a head unit with three preouts but I’m not and audiphile, and I personally like the understated looks and simple controls on the Kenwood.

Mar 27, · If you use two rca splitters that have one female jack out to 2 females, you can get the signal with the males from the amp and then one end of the female jacks will go to the sub and one to the amp. I hope this helps.
View Post Would this be better for the signal routing? DAC out to Mackie. Then Mackie out to the sub. We all understand that music listening systems are stereo and that stereo requires two cables for any kind of analog connection between components. No need to detail the left and right separately. If I do this then would the sub get full range?
