Guide to dating DOD FX-series pedals by serial number Some early DOD FX-series pedals have stickers with the date of final assembly, but unlike Boss pedals, the month and year of manufacture is not encoded in its serial number.
F is the production factory which stands for Fujigen. The first digit will be the last digit of the year, ie. The last 5 numbers will be the consecutive number denoting production count for the year with the caveat that each month will start at predetermined intervals of or , etc. Presently it is set at These serial numbers are usually quite different from the MIJ numbers, have many extra digits because of the enormous volume of guitars produced, and I am not familiar enough with any of them to tell you how to figure out the dating.
Cort Serial Numbers – Cort serial numbers are denoted with a C prefix followed by either 7 or 8 digits.
RIVERA: THE DEFINITION OF TONE
Most notably, production dates have been penciled or stamped on the butt end of the heel of the neck of most guitars and basses, although there were periods when this was not consistently done to , for example or simply omitted. Neck-dating can be useful in determining the approximate age of a guitar, but it is certainly not definitive because the neck date simply refers to the date that the individual component was produced, rather than the complete instrument.
Given the modular nature of Fender production techniques, an individual neck may have been produced in a given year, then stored for a period of time before being paired with a body to create a complete guitar, perhaps, for example, in the following year. Therefore, while helpful in determining a range of production dates, a neck date is obviously not a precisely definitive reference.
Aug 02, · Sounds like the back plate has been replaced. I have never seen Boss pedals have 2 serial numbers. If it is a Japanese or early Taiwan pedal with the TAAP chip, then it’s a good one.

Jul 26, · Dating Dine Boss Pedal This article outlines the 10 stompbox design elements that are common to all BOSS guitar effects pedals. BOSS is the original guitar compact pedal. Hi all, I PS The one pedal, in particular that I am interested in, is A BOSS Delay pedal.
Boss introduces the GT , a tabletop guitar processor and USB audio interface designed for home studios. The two units are so alike they can share user patches. Aside from modeled amps, the unit also features a multitude of effects, including overdrives, distortions, mod effects, delays, reverbs, pitch shifters and many more.
To accommodate modern home recording needs, Boss added in a rotary effect and acoustic guitar simulators. To better personalize your tone, the GT features dual effects chains with flexible serial or parallel routing options. The official description says, “You can blend two amps and effects chains together to create super-rich studio tones, build unique and refined sounds with parallel effects, and much more.
The effect chains can also be toggled with an optional footswitch, providing channel-switching style functionality for jamming and recording. Effect chains can even be switched with frequency or playing dynamics, allowing you to change your sound by where you play on the neck or by how hard you strike the strings. This will let you trigger software synthesizers and other computer-based MIDI instruments without the need for special pickups.
This compact guitar processor is also a fully functional four-channel USB audio interface, allowing you to capture both processed and unprocessed tones. You can then “re-amp” the unprocessed tones and apply effects “after the fact”, which means that you won’t have to redo a track just because the effects applied were unsatisfactory. Phantom power is available for connecting studio condenser microphones. To make it even more convenient Boss bundled the unit with a number of ready-to-go preset patches for vocals and acoustic guitars.
Since it is compatible with GT patches, you have a large selection of user and preset patches at your disposal, freely downloadable at Boss Tone Central or from other users on the web.

Serial numbers All bikes 1 all have unique serial numbers. Most bicycles have their serial number engraved beneath their bottom bracket, but sometimes serial numbers are found in other places. Here are some examples of where and what to look for: The bottom bracket where serial numbers are typically located is circled. A serial number on the underside of a bottom bracket. Another serial number beneath the bottom bracket, aligned parallel to the frame.
Some Schwinn bicycles have the unique identifying number on their head tube which is on the front of the bike. A serial number located on a rear drop out. Some BMX bikes and a few Schwinn bicycles place the serial on the rear dropout. On older Schwinns there are numbers stamped on both the drive side and non-drive side rear dropouts; the one on the non-drive side dropout is the serial number.

Paul Berry After building the product for Huffington Post, and owning the product and engineering groups at AOL after we were acquired, it was clear to me there was a huge gap between what the current CMS offering gave the world and what the world needed. Five years later we are at scale, moving the needle and doing to WordPress what Airbnb did to Craigslist.
Social and Centralized WordPress, Drupal, and the custom CMS solutions of the world are all independent, non-connected instances that each need to be updated individually. There are over 87 million instances of WordPress alone in the world, and each security upgrade, feature update, and every other single thing has to be updated for each site individually. By contrast, RebelMouse is a social, centralized platform built to keep up with the speed of the tech giants.

About this site Welcome to my collection of serial number date decoders and tools. This project started when I wrote a basic tool to cross reference the serial numbers and the movements on my personal vintage watch collection. As I searched for the information required to build it I realised this tool was becoming quite a large resource that other people may find useful so I made it available online.
Most older Boss pedals were designed for an unregulated ACA power supply. The ACA adaptor actually puts out about 12V DC, and the old pedals have a diode and resistor inside to reduce this to 9V. When you use a battery in these old pedals, the battery 9V bypasses the .
Introduced in using the same chip as the awesome rack mount SDE , the DD-2 was very expensive. Here is a cool Boss Serial Number Decoder if you would like to know when your pedal was made. See our delay mod page for more info on the DD2, 3, 5, 6, and 7. COM for ordering so you and we can easily keep track of the order status, tracking numbers, etc. If you don’t need the features of the DD-6 long delay time, stereo inputs, tap tempo, reverse mode or if you want the ultimate warm tone with nearly one second of delay, the DD-3 with our high cut mod is the way to go.
After a few years it was renamed DD-3 and lowered in price when the memory chips got cheaper. They stopped using the big SDE chip about when they moved production out of Japan in the 80s. The center setting is the original bright echo sound, one position is a medium high cut, and the other position a heavier cut. But it can add some noise if you move the sliders away from the center.
Even bringing a slider DOWN will add noise, try it! This makes the effect sound quite analog and you can distinguish the repeats from the original sound.

Go to menu top I never heard anything better than a Fender if we’re talking about the big manufacturers. Later on, in the Guitar section, I’ll also talk about Standel and EchoSonic , but they’re produced in such small numbers that it’s fair to say they’ll only have historic interest to the most of us So As long as you get a tube Fender you’ll probably be on the right track, because they all sound pretty good. It doesn’t have to be vintage at all, but they do look pretty cool. Actually I started out playing a vintage Vox AC 30 and it wasn’t bad at all.
The sound was very ‘tube’ and that’s what you’re looking for, but Fender is still the better choice for Rockabilly. Fender Bassman ’59 reissue Many Rockabilly guitarists play a ’59 Fender Bassman or similar – vintage or reissue. It sounds perfect for rockabilly. The distortion which is where you get the right sound from changes dramatically with change of volume. That’s very impractically when you play live, where you have to adjust the volume after the size and acoustics of the place where you playing.
I found a way to get around that and always have the same “Bassman-sound” no matter what volume I’m playing at Here’s a page with photos of some actual recording sheets where you can see how the SansAmp was set.
